Dr. Monsen grew up in a small town in Southwest Minnesota. He received his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and Health at Iowa State University in 2019, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He then went on to Optometry school at Illinois College of Optometry and received his doctorate of optometry in 2024 as valedictorian of the class. During his education, he had intern rotations in ocular disease, cornea/contact lens fitting, low vision, binocular vision,and pediatrics. He completed externships at Vance Thompson Vision, Associated Eye Care, Illinois Eye Institute, and Barnes Crossing Vision. After finishing optometry school he completed a residency at Moyes Eye Center in Ocular Disease with an emphasis in co-managing ocular surgery.
When Dr. Monsen is not helping patients he enjoys being outdoors hiking, camping, and fishing. He is also an avid Minnesota sports fan.

- Comprehensive eye care including disease of the cornea/anterior segment and treatment of glaucoma
- Pre- and Post- surgical care of cataracts, cornea, LASIK, and glaucoma
