Astigmatism
Astigmatism Overview
A normally shaped cornea is round and allows passing light to focus on a single point on the retina. But when the curvature of the cornea is abnormal, it can cause light entering the eye to hit two separate points on the retina, resulting in visual distortions. This condition is called astigmatism, and it’s one of the most common vision problems.
