Standard Cataract Surgery
A Safe & Successful Way to Correct Your Vision
Standard cataract surgery has a proven track record of helping patients alleviate some of their cataract symptoms. During standard cataract surgery, your surgeon will replace your cloudy natural lens with a clear, basic IOL.
How Does Standard Cataract Surgery Work?
Standard cataract surgery can correct blurry vision and glare caused by cataracts in a single procedure. Although it’s a safe and effective method for removing cataracts, standard cataract surgery does not eliminate other eye issues like astigmatism, the need for reading glasses, or the need for prescription glasses. However, Medicare and most private insurers will cover this surgery (co-pays and deductibles still apply).
Post-Op Recovery
One of the most pressing questions patients have for their surgeon is, “How long before I can get back to my normal life?”
It only takes a few days before you’re back to your normal activities. Your surgeon will discuss the exact follow-up process with you but expect at least one post-op checkup following your surgery.
