Retinal Detachment
Retinal Detachment Overview
Retinal detachment is a condition that can appear as you age and usually comes on suddenly. Although it’s not typically painful, retinal detachment can hinder your peripheral vision over time.
If you suspect you may be suffering from retinal detachment or simply want your retina evaluated for any condition, see one of our eye care specialists.
What Causes Retinal Detachment?
As you age, the vitreous fluid in the back of your eye shrinks. This change may cause it to pull back from the retina, leading to detachment.
If you start noticing any of the signs or symptoms of retinal detachment, your best course of action is to see an eye care specialist near you. They’ll discuss possible treatments and solutions that’ll work for your unique situation.
Signs of Retinal Detachment
- Floaters or flashes appearing in your vision suddenly
- Light flashes in one or both eyes
- Blurred vision
