- Efficiently manage incoming calls to schedule patient appointments for routine check-ups, consultations, and procedures with ophthalmologists.
- Collect and verify patient insurance details to ensure eligibility for ophthalmic services, and provide necessary information regarding coverage and benefits.
- Address patient inquiries related to services offered, and any concerns related to their eye health.
- Reach out to patients to schedule follow-up appointments, and send reminders for upcoming visits or procedures.
- Triage calls for other departments and physician questions.
- Conducting Preliminary Patient Assessments by gathering patient medical history, including eye-related issues, and performing initial eye screenings.
- Conducting Diagnostic Testing
- Assist ophthalmologists in preparing patients for examinations, including explaining procedures, instilling eye drops, and positioning patients for specific tests or treatments.
- Educate patients about eye conditions, treatment plans, and post-operative care instructions. Demonstrate the proper use of prescribed medications or eye care products.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including demographic information, medical history, and billing details. Enter data into the clinic’s electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Educate patients on their options for surgery and answer any questions they may have.
- Schedule patient’s surgery and post-operative appointments. Signing all consent forms at the time of their appointment.
- Explain the patient’s pre-operative and post-operative surgery instructions.
- Verify patient insurance details to ensure eligibility for ophthalmic services, and provide necessary information regarding coverage and benefits.
- Address patient inquiries related to services offered, pre-operative instructions, post-operative care, and any concerns related to their eye health.
- Prepare the surgery chart with all treatment notes, diagnostic testing, and consent forms.
- Call in any medications for the patient’s surgery. Handle requests for prescription refills, assist with medication-related queries, and coordinate with ophthalmologists for necessary approvals.
