Biography

Dr. Amy Fernandez is a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry/Salus University and received a Doctor of Optometry degree in 2002. She received her undergraduate degree from Ashland University.

Dr. Fernandez began practicing in 2002 at Eye Care of Medina and is continuing to serve the Medina county communities at Ohio Eye Care Consultants. Dr. Fernandez provides comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages. She practices eye care as well as treatment and management of ocular diseases and emergencies. Dr. Fernandez also performs Lasik consultations and follow up care for Lasik and cataract surgical patients. Her professional interests include contact lens fittings, especially multifocal and specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Fernandez is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Ohio Optometric Association. She has served as Board Member, Secretary, and Zone Governor of the Ohio Optometric Association. Dr. Fernandez resides in Wadsworth with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys reading, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Former President of the Michigan Keratorefractive Society and program director of the Sinai Hospital Ophthalmology Residency Program

Currently holds memberships with several professional organizations, including the Michigan State Medical Society, the Oakland County Medical Society, and the Michigan Ophthalmological Society
