Graduated from Albion College and University of Alabama at Birmingham school of Optometry. He received advanced training at the Vision Science Graduate Research Program in Physiological Optics. Dr. Mahalak completed a residency in Family Practice Optometry and Ocular Disease/Surgical Care. He also served as Center Director for Eye Health Partners/Vision America of Montgomery, Alabama. Dr. Mahalak is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys a variety of activities including golf, hunting, fishing and camping.
