Having more than 23 years of diverse experiences, especially in Optometry, Dr. Schmid performs comprehensive primary care ocular examinations, fits contact lenses, co-manages post-operative cases including cataract and refractive surgery patients. He also evaluates and treats patients with diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other eye diseases.
His professional memberships include the American Optometric Association, Ohio Optometric Association, Beta Signa Kappa Honor Society, and he is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He is a past examiner with the National Board of Examiners of Optometry and a participant in the InfantSee and Vision USA programs.
Dr. Schmid earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Superior and his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. After graduation, Dr. Schmid completed an ocular disease residency at the Cleveland VA Medical Center.
Originally from Wisconsin, Dr. Schmid resides in Hudson with his wife (Dr. Susie Kim) and their two children.
